MSM/GLBT Outreach

Providing outreach and HIV/AIDS and STD education for Columbus’ large gay male community, as well as for non-gay-identified men who have sex with men.

In Franklin County, unprotected sex between men continues to be the highest rate of HIV infection. Education for this community is accomplished through:

* Educational presentations
* Individual level risk assessments and skills building
* Needs assessments, and
* Outreach awareness activities

Additionally, the MSM Outreach Team, along with other agency staff are working to address the use of crystal meth and HIV transmission.

The MSM Outreach Team actively represents CATF in the community and is responsible for providing condoms, lube, and safer sex kits to the community, both at local gay bars and at various social events throughout the year.
