CATF is dedicated to caring for those living with HIV/AIDS, educating the community about preventing the spread of this disease, and making the fight against ignorance and apathy a health care priority.
You can help. Here is how:
1. View the volunteer opportunities below and think about if they are positions that fit you.
2. Email volunteer@catf.net or call 614-340-6771 with the following information:
Ø First and last name
Ø Phone number(s) and mailing address where you can be reached
Ø Availability (days, evenings, weekends, flexible, etc)
Ø The position (listed below) in which you are most interested in
A representative of the Volunteer Services Program will be in touch with you to discuss your interests and skills.
4. Complete Volunteer application paperwork, including agreement to a background check, and drop off application materials to a volunteer services representative at 1751 E. Long St. during the following times:
The second Thursday of each month from 2pm-4pm
and
The third Tuesday of each month from 5pm-7pm.
Once your background check is complete, a member of the volunteer services team will contact you to confirm your attendance at the next General Volunteer Training.
5. Attend general volunteer training. *CATF only offers the general volunteer training quarterly.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Special Events Team Member
Be part of a team of event support, assisting with event planning, coordination, and team leadership roles. This team has fun working fundraisers and promotional events. This work varies and is intermittent. Most opportunities are weekends and/or evenings.
Community HIV Outreach
Help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and reduce discrimination against people infected or affected by this disease through community education about risk reduction, current information about HIV and its impact locally as well as globally. You can also help direct people to the many programs and services CATF provides.
Ohio AIDS/HIV/STD Hotline Operator
Help staff the Ohio AIDS/HIV/STD Hotline, providing information and referral services to callers from every county, connecting them with resources relevant to their concerns, in a professional and confidential setting.
MSM Outreach
Provide input on and support for Men who have Sex with Men programming including condom distribution to various locales, staffing informational tables at various locales, data collection and entry, taking part in the MSM Popular Opinion Leader (POL) program, serving as a marketing resource regarding ways to better reach MSM with prevention efforts.
Administrative Support
Help provide assistance in administrative tasks at CATF, by staffing the front desk, making copies, preparing large mailings, data entry and organizational tasks.
IT Support
Provide input and support on website/technology topics at CATF, including website design and updating of website, graphic design for events, logos and marketing materials.
HIV Test Counselor
Provide HIV testing & behavioral risk-reduction counseling and deliver test results during CATF’s walk-in hours, large scale testing community testing events and help enter data from HIV test counseling sessions.
