YOUTH OUTREACH

One of the fastest growing segments of the population to become infected with HIV is the youth population; 50% of all new HIV infections occur in young people under the age of 25.  Young people are reaching sexual maturity and experimenting without the proper skills and information necessary to make wise decisions about their sexual health.  It is imperative that we reach America’s youth and give them the knowledge and skills that can save their lives.  This is accomplished through:

  • Awareness and information programming in schools
  • Awareness and information programming in out of school settings like drop-in centers and extracurricular clubs and social settings
  • Outreach awareness activities at community events

The Youth Outreach Health Educator is CATF’s sexual health advocate for the young people of Central Ohio.  For more information contact Bridget DeCrane at bridgetdecrane@catf.net or 614-340-6735.
