Auction Bidding Instructions

  1. All bidders, live or silent, must be registered with a bidder number.
  2. Columbus AIDS Task Force does not assume any risk, liability or responsibility for the authenticity, quality or value of items.
  3. Estimate of retail values and descriptions of items have been made based on information provided by donors and are deemed reliable.
  4. All items are sold “as is” subject to the conditions and restrictions, stipulated by the donors.
  5. Purchasers may not request refunds or exchanges from a donor or Columbus AIDS Task Force.
  6. By participating in this auction, each bidder recognizes that Columbus AIDS Task Force or anyone who assists in the conduction of the auction shall not be liable for any occurrence resulting from the use of auctioned items and/or services sold.
  7. Columbus AIDS Task Force reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the actual sale. Unless otherwise announced by the auctioneer at the time of sale, all bids are per lot as numbered in the auction catalogue.
  8. Before removal from the premises, all art must be paid in full using cash, check, Discover, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
  9. Once you are in possession of your artwork, please remove it from the building. Due to security, people cannot walk around carrying artwork.
Silent Auction Instructions & Rules
  1. In order to bit on artwork, you must obtain a bidder number. Bidder numbers may be obtained at the registration table.
  2. The Silent Auction begins at 8:00 pm and will close in scheduled intervals throughout the evening, please see postings in each gallery. Winners will be announced on the evening of the Auction, September 25, 2010.
  3. To bid, enter only your bid number and the dollar amount in designated increments.
  4. Bidders are expected to abide by stipulations on Silent Auction bid sheets. Bids, which do not match specifications for bidding increments will be disqualified.
  5. Each succeeding bid must be equal to or exceed the required increment as shown on the bid sheet and be in round dollar amounts.
  6. If your bid is the winning bid (winning bids will be marked by an Art for Life committee member), present your bid number and pay for your acquisition at the check0out center on the first floor of Sullivant Hall. Forms of payment include cash, check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.
  7. If the winning bid numbers and/or amounts are illegible the person bid is disqualified and goes tot eh second highest bidder.
  8. If the successful bidder has left the premises, she/he will be notified beginning Monday, September 27, 2010.
  9. Delivery service for artwork is available via Two Men and a Truck for an additional cost. Pieces may also be picked up the following week, please see registration for available times and location.
